INTRACOM DEFENSE ELECTRONICS is Greece's largest defense electronic systems provider. INTRACOM DEFENSE ELECTRONICS designs and develops state-of-the-art military communications systems, products, applications and electronics. The company participates in joint multinational development, production and research projects, in cooperation with major international defense system manufacturers and military research organisations.

INTRACOM DEFENSE ELECTRONICS, with a proven 15-year successful track record in Greece and abroad, is a member of INTRACOM HOLDINGS, Greece's largest multinational holding company investing in Telecommunications, Defense Electronics,
e-Government, Banking & Enterprise IT Systems, and Constructions. INTRACOM HOLDINGS is listed on the Athens Stock Exchange and is included in the FTSE/ASE-40 index.

In December 2005, INTRACOM, a leading company in the field of Telecommunications Systems, Defense Electronics and Information Technology, was transformed to a holding company and three new subsidiaries were established: INTRACOM TELECOM, INTRACOM DEFENSE ELECTRONICS and INTRACOM IT SERVICES.

INTRACOM DEFENSE ELECTRONICS has acquired significant know-how in designing, developing, and producing state-of-the-art military communication systems, encryption devices, command & control systems (C³), missile electronic components, radars, simulators, and testing equipment.

INTRACOM DEFENSE ELECTRONICS is a leading company in the design, development and manufacture of high-tech defense electronics systems:

  • Tactical communication systems (WISPR, WISPR-WLAN, WISPR-Net, VSAT Cronos)
  • Encryption devices (SecLine MÂit, SecLine MED, SecLine a-PLUS, SecLine IP)
  • Communication systems - Radio transceivers (TRC 9200 VHF/FM/FH and TRC 3600 HF/SSB)
  • Communication systems - Radio link systems (IDR 21M - Microwave communication links, FQUAD 450M)

INTRACOM DEFENSE ELECTRONICS focuses on the design and development of new and leading-edge defense systems and products, and continually invests in new infrastructure and the adoption of new manufacturing processes and methodologies.


Priority Markets

INTRACOM DEFENSE ELECTRONICS' activities focus mainly on the armament programmes of the Hellenic Ministry of Defense, participating either as a sub-contractor in the frame of co-production of major weapon systems (aircrafts, ships, armoured vehicles, etc.) or as the main supplier in the frame of tenders or by promoting products that have been developed and manufactured within the company. In addition, DEFENSE ELECTRONICS promotes its products to customers abroad either autonomously or in collaboration with international partners and large international defense companies, which utilise INTRACOM DEFENSE ELECTRONICS products in their platforms.

INTRACOM DEFENSE ELECTRONICS' activities in the defense sector addresses the needs of the Hellenic Armed Forces with novel, advanced, domestically-manufactured systems that incorporate a significant Greek value-added participation and offer security, reliability, expandability, and full life-cycle support.


International Activities

INTRACOM DEFENSE ELECTRONICS' products and services reach Belgium, Cyprus, Germany, France, Sweden, Spain, Holland and USA.

INTRACOM DEFENSE ELECTRONICS, following the signing of a Basic Order Agreement (BOA) with NATO's Consultancy, Command and Control Agency (NC3A), has been included in NATO's preselected suppliers list for the acquisition of input devices, telecommunications equipment, cryptographic equipment, communication software, computer services, and software engineering.

Financial Figures

In 2006, revenues reached €78.8 million; 67.6% was derived from international sales.
