+++ INTRASOFT International undertakes e-government projects
in Latvia and Lithuania +++
INTRASOFT International S.A, a member of the INTRACOM
Group, was awarded -following an international tender- the implementation
of Latvian Custom's Computerised Transit Control System. The project,
based on a modern web-based development environment, is implemented in
consortium with the Finnish company Hewlett Packard ΟΥ and is purposed
to both serve the needs of the country's commerce, pertaining to transportation
and monitoring of goods from the point of departure to the final destination,
as well as facilitate the electronic submission of Transit Declarations
and secure exchange of electronic documents and information between all
involved parties (traders, transport companies) within the New Computerised
Transit System (NCTS). NCTS has been placed in full operation since July
2003 and INTRASOFT International is one of the primary European Commission
partners in the development and support of this system.
Furthermore, INTRASOFT International, following an international
tender, undertook the implementation of a complex project for Lithuanian
Customs, in collaboration with local company INFORMACINES TECHNOLOGIJOS
UAB. This project is modular, comprising of a group of applications for
the coverage of a wide range of Lithuanian Customs' computerization demands.
The project is expected to cover customs guarantee management, transit
and traders risk analysis and management, as well as TIR and ΑΤΑ carnet
transports. Furthermore, within the framework of this project, INTRASOFT
International will develop an application similar to the one of Latvian
Customs, pertaining to national commerce.
The implementation and operation of the above systems
constitute one of the obligations resulting from the inclusion of the
two countries in question into the European Union. INTRASOFT International's
know-how and long-standing experience in the area of Tariff and Custom
systems constituted one of the basic factors for the selection of the
company, while vouching for prompt and qualitative implementation of the
afore-mentioned systems.
