Telemetry Systems
The
telemetry section of the IRIS-T missile is used for
data transmission from the missile to the data collection
ground station via a radio link from a transmitter located
inside the unit. More specifically, the telemetry system,
which has been developed by INTRACOM DEFENSE ELECTRONICS:
- Is connected to the missile guidance
section processor via HDLC serial protocol.
- Is connected to the IR seeker via
serial PCM serial data sequence.
- Receives inputs from missile analog
sensors, which after digitalization are transmitted
to the ground station.
- Creates afterwards a PCM data sequence,
which follows the IRIG-STD-106 1996, standard (Telemetry
Standards). These data after being frequency modulated
(FM) are transmitted wireless in the 2.2-2.4 GHz frequency
band.
The unit is also equipped with:
- A Radar Transponder which operates
in C-band (~5.6GHz)
- A UHF Flight Termination Receiver/Decoder,
which operates according to the IRIG-STD-313 1994
standard.
