+++ INTRACOM among the 10 Greek companies with the best
working environment +++
INTRACOM was ranked fourth out of the 10 Greek companies
with the best working environment in Greece in the competition GREAT PLACE
TO WORK® (THE CHAMPIONS: THE COMPANIES WORTH WORKING FOR). This competition
is held for the second consecutive year by the international organization
Great Place to Work® in cooperation with ALBA (Athens Laboratory
of Business Administration), the "Vima" newspaper, and "Ikonomikos
Tahidromos" magazine. INTRACOM participated in the competition for
the first time.
This is a globally renowned competition, firstly conducted
in the USA, which, in the recent years, has been established in all European
countries. Private and public companies of the 15 EU state-members, keeping
at least 50 employees, can enter the competition. As one of the top 10
Greek companies, INTRACOM has currently entered the European contest as
well, whose outcome will be officially announced on 27/04/2004.
The ulterior aim of this competition is the creation
of a Top-100-Companies list in terms of their working environment and
the human resources management practices they apply. This competition
aims to direct Greek companies' interest towards human resources issues,
to award those companies having proved their respect for the human value,
and encourage all companies to become even better. The evaluation of the
competing companies was conducted on the basis of data stemming from two
sources: Firstly, the answers of a randomly selected sample of employees
to the GREAT PLACE TO WORK® Trust Index questionnaire (two thirds
of the final grade depend on these). Secondly, the answers provided by
the Human Resources Manager to a series of questions pertaining to human
resources management practices, salaries, benefits, etc, as well as company
informative material (manuals, video, etc).
This distinction is very important for INTRACOM, since
it means ranking the company first among the -solely- Greek companies
that are considered to be model companies in terms of working environment,
thus confirming the company's pioneer working policy. Since its foundation,
INTRACOM has engaged and continues to encourage initiatives with the purpose
of ameliorating employee quality of life, systematically investing in
their training and personal development. The company is a pioneer in implementing
a 35-hour working week, while offering a series of benefits for the improvement
of employee standard of living. It fosters an excellent working climate
of open communication, providing equal opportunities for all. Within this
framework, the company will continue to project the vision of creativity,
as a high-technology company promoting lofty values and an excellent working
environment.
