+++ INTRACOM: Strategic partnership agreement with Axxcelera
Broadband Wireless. +++
INTRACOM, a leading vendor, integrator and service
provider of solutions for mobile and fixed network operators in South
Eastern Europe, and Axxcelera Broadband Wireless, a leading U.S. based
WiMAX systems manufacturer, today jointly announced a strategic partnership
with the objective of enabling operators in Europe, Middle East and Africa
to achieve rapid and cost-effective growth leveraging cutting edge broadband
wireless technologies.
INTRACOM specializes in the implementation of large-scale,
turn-key telecommunication projects, integrating best of breed technologies
through own and 3rd party systems of its selected Partners group. With
the emergence of 802.16 and WiMAX technologies, broadband wireless systems
have become a very compelling solution for a large part of next-generation
networks that provide voice, data and video services to either fixed or
mobile users.
"INTRACOM has been involved with the IEEE 802.16
technology for many years now. We have carefully designed a comprehensive
product line that fits very nicely with our customers' requirements for
broadband wireless networks. Working with Axxcelera enables us to complement
our own in-house developed systems with one of the best WiMAX systems
available today. We chose Axxcelera for being in the frontline of WiMAX
systems manufacturers, for its quality, flexibility and wide range of
WiMAX solutions for carriers and ISPs. They are participating in the first
wave of WiMAX certifications at Cetecom, in Spain, and have shared and
committed to a very attractive product roadmap with us" stated Alex
Manos, INTRACOM Executive Director, Telecommunications Systems.
"Working with a partner such as INTRACOM enables
us to better focus our resources on the development and enhancement of
our WiMAX technology, while being confident that our customers will receive
the highest quality of professional services for the design, deployment
and support of their networks. INTRACOM has a strong, proven record for
delivering large-scale telecommunication projects on time, on quality
and on budget and we know they have what it takes to build profitable
WiMAX access networks for their customers." commented Jamal Hamdani,
President and CEO of Axxcelera.
The agreement between the two companies also involves
joint development programs. "We chose to partner with INTRACOM not
only for its professional services and integration capabilities, but also
for the synergies that can be exploited through joint development programs.
There is still unrealized potential and a multitude of applications for
broadband wireless technologies. We are pleased to have teamed up with
an experienced designer of wireless broadband systems as together we will
be better positioned to address the challenges and opportunities faced
by our customers through the development of new technologies and systems",
commented Sanjay Nagpal, Sr. Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing
at Axxcelera.
