+++ INTRACOM undertakes a broadband wireline access project
for DIGITEL of Philippines +++
INTRACOM was awarded a new project for the supply of
broadband wireline access systems (DSLAMs) to Digital Telecommunications
Phils Inc. (DIGITEL), the basic alternative operator of voice, data and
internet services in the Philippines.
The project, with an initial forecasted value of 4 million
USD, is already under execution through the first partial order of 700,000
USD which includes the supply of INTRACOM's small and large capacity DSLAM
systems (FASTmux 2000 and IBAS systems respectively), as well as the corresponding
network management system (BBMS). Through the above systems, DIGITEL will
offer high-speed data services to enterprises and residential users in
the greater Metro Manila area, considerably strengthening its position
in the highly competitive broadband services market.
It is worth mentioning that the project was awarded
after extensive testing of INTRACOM's systems in the network of DIGITEL
in Manila. Trials in the demanding climatic conditions of the Philippines
were fully successful, proving INTRACOM's considerable experience in designing
telecom systems of high quality and reliability.
FASTmux 2000 systems have already been deployed in more
than 50 Telecom Operators worldwide, while the IBAS system has been successfully
installed in Greece, the Philippines, Russia, Albania, as well as in African
countries.
This new project further enhances INTRACOM's presence
in the Philippines, having already supplied the above systems to another
local alternative provider of voice, internet and data services.
