PROFITS® Universal Banking System

In the Core Banking Systems area, INTRACOM IT SERVICES has developed its own Integrated Banking System PROFITS® which constitutes an On-Line Real-Time Customer-centered and Product-Oriented System for Banking & Financial institutions. Incorporating best banking practices and proven technologies in the field (open systems platforms, client-server or web-based architecture, CASE tools, multi-currency and multi-lingual design, etc), PROFITS® has been utilized as a strategic tool by a variety of banks and financial organizations both in Greece and abroad, to cover their complete range of products and services.

PROFITS® constitutes a uniform front and back-office environment for branches, central departments and electronic banking channels, ensuring continuous real-time operation on a 24-hour basis. By declaring to the system user-definable access and authorization rules that are parametrically defined according to the bank's internal policies and procedures, PROFITS® facilitates standardization of operational flow and maximizes productivity and quality of customer service. In addition, its customer-centered architecture and product-oriented design ensure easy creation of new banking products and facilitate the implementation of relationship banking practices, according to the dynamically changing market needs.

 



PROFITS® functions have been designed so as to:

PROFITS® comprises a large number of sub-systems offering comprehensive functionality for multiple banking operations, including Customer Management, Product Management, Deposits, Third-Party Payments, Standing Orders, Credit Agreements, Collaterals, Loans, Funds Transfer, Foreign Exchange, Stocks, Securities, Letters of Credit, Letters of Guarantee, Safe Deposit Boxes, Bills of Exchange, General Ledger, Profitability, Budgeting, Cost Allocation, User Security & Authorizations, Teller/Branch Support, Parameter Administration and Management Information (MIS). Adopting proven and internationally accepted technologies, PROFITS® also offers e-banking functionality for alternative delivery channels (Telephone Banking, Mobile/Voice Banking, Internet Banking), offering a complete and uniform technical environment for customer service.

PROFITS® supports full transaction logging and authorised user access, upgrading transaction processing through electronic authorization mechanisms based on a frame of bank-definable security rules. This frame is defined during the initial system set-up and can be dynamically modified according to the evolving organizational policies of the Bank.

  • Business Process Optimization

PROFITS® guarantees flawless and integrated workflow between Front and Back Office functions. Automation of routine back-office tasks facilitates shift of back-office personnel to front-office sales and customer management activities.

  • Parametric Transaction Rules

PROFITS® utilizes a set of parametric rules for business transaction design according to specific functional or regulatory needs, thus maximizing reusability of software components and minimizing implementation time and effort.

  • Banking Anytime, Anywhere

PROFITS® offers 24-hour real-time processing of banking transactions via traditional (branch) as well as electronic banking channels (ATM/POS, phone, internet, call center, etc).

  • Automated User/Unit/Bank End-Of-Day Procedures

End-Of-Day Procedures at User/Unit/Bank levels are parametrically designed so as to minimize the time and resources needed. The system also offers the capability of instant and accurate information on cash positions at User/Unit/Bank levels.

  • MIS Reporting

PROFITS® offers an integrated information repository, accessible On-Line Real-Time by authorized users, offering a variety of user-defined Management Reports for exploitation purposes. Furthermore, this repository constitutes the basis for the Bank's Data Warehouse environment.

  • General Ledger Integrated Control

PROFITS® General Ledger functionality includes powerful multi-currency accounting facilities based on bank-definable accounting structures, thus providing integrated control, increased efficiency and elimination of errors.

  • Vendor Independence

The extended know-how of PROFITS® architectural structure and technology standard enable INTRACOM IT SERVICES to successfully transfer the knowledge to the customer thus offering significant independence capabilities to the Bank. We give you the tools and the challenge to operate and exploit your system.

Technical Architecture

PROFITS® offers comprehensive business functionality, in combination with advanced technology and scalable architecture. Its modular n-tier architecture guarantees interoperability, scalability and the flexibility to be easily extended according to dynamically changing user needs.

The system operates on open standards platforms, offering unlimited freedom to the Bank, to choose any operating platform, from IBM mainframes to UNIX, Win-NT or J2EE environments. Such freedom is also offered towards the choice of database (DB2, ORACLE, Sybase, Informix, SQL Server, JDBC, etc), user interface design (GUI, browser-based, etc), middleware (CICS, Tuxedo, Encina, MQ Series, etc) or language (C, Cobol, Java, EJB).

Industry standard messaging protocols and gateways guarantee the open connectivity and interfacing to other systems, thus protecting the Bank's existing IT investments.

PROFITS® modern technology architecture integrates seamlessly multiple delivery channels (ATM/POS, internet, phone, WAP/SMS, call centre, etc) ensuring 24-hour real time processing of high volumes.

Computer Associates' Advantage Gen application development environment for multiple platforms has been used throughout the design of the system. PROFITS® has been technically certified by Computer Associates (ca smartTM certification), proving its advanced technology and reliable design.
